FAQ

How does the second opinion process work?

Our virtual second opinion process is designed to be simple, convenient, and efficient. Here’s how it works:

1. Schedule Your Consultation – Choose an available date and time that works for you and complete your payment to secure your appointment.

2. Prepare Your Documents – If you have X-rays, treatment plans, or any relevant records, have them ready on your phone or computer before the consultation. If you don’t have them, you can still discuss your concerns with the provider.

3. Join the Video Consultation – At your scheduled time, use the secure Doxy.me video link provided in your confirmation email to connect with a licensed dentist.

4. Upload Documents (Optional) – If needed, the provider will send you a secure file transfer link during the consultation, allowing you to quickly upload your X-rays or treatment plan for review.

5. Receive Expert Guidance – The dentist will review the information, answer your questions, and provide an unbiased second opinion on your treatment options.

This process ensures you receive clarity and confidence in your dental decisions—all from the comfort of your home!

Is my information really secure?

Yes, all data is protected by HIPAA-compliant security measures.

Can I get a refund if I’m not satisfied?

We strive for 100% satisfaction, and if you’re not happy, we’ll work with you to make it right.
However, since we charge a low-cost fee for the consultation, we are unable to provide refunds.
That said, we will do our best to ensure you are satisfied with the service.

Does this service create a patient-doctor relationship?

No, this service does not establish a formal patient-doctor relationship. Our licensed dentists
provide expert advice and second opinions based on the information you provide during the
consultation. However, this is not a substitute for an in-person, comprehensive evaluation. We
recommend that you return to your current dentist or find a new dentist for a complete
examination and treatment planning. The advice you receive through this service is meant to
assist you in making informed decisions, but it should not delay necessary treatment or replace a
full dental evaluation.

Do I need to have my dental records or X-rays to use this service?

While having your X-rays or treatment plan is helpful, it’s not required. Our licensed dentists can
still provide guidance based on the information you share during the consultation. If you don’t
have these documents, we can discuss your symptoms, concerns, and provide advice on possible
next steps.

How long does a second opinion consultation take?

A typical consultation is booked for 15 minutes, but the actual consultation time is
approximately 12 minutes to allow our licensed dentists time to reset and prepare for their next
appointment. This time frame should be sufficient to address your questions and provide the
information needed for your unique situation. Our goal is to ensure you receive helpful and
personalized advice within this window.

Can I use this service for emergency dental situations?

This service is not intended for emergency situations. If you are experiencing severe pain,
swelling, or any dental emergency, please seek immediate care from a local dentist or an
emergency room.

Can I schedule multiple consultations?

Yes, you can schedule multiple consultations if you have ongoing concerns or new questions
about your dental health. Each consultation is treated as a separate session.

Will my insurance cover this service?

We do not participate with any insurance plans at this time. However, we offer our consultations
at a low, flat fee of $99, making expert dental advice accessible without the complexities of
insurance.

What happens if I disagree with the advice given in the second opinion?

We provide unbiased expert advice and opinions, but it’s up to you to make the final decision
regarding your treatment. We encourage you to discuss our recommendations with your primary
dentist for further guidance or explore other opinions if needed.

What should I do after receiving my second opinion?

After receiving your second opinion, it’s important to return to your primary dentist or seek out a
new dentist for a comprehensive examination and to proceed with the treatment plan that best
suits your needs. Our second opinion service is advisory and should not delay any necessary
dental care.
